Michael McMahon, MSc, MCSP, PG Dip MSK US
Advanced Practice Physiotherapist and MSK Sonographer
Michael is a highly experienced Advanced Practice Physiotherapist and Musculoskeletal Sonographer, with extensive experience across the NHS, Private Practice and multi-sports settings. He holds an MSc in Advanced Practice Physiotherapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in MSK Ultrasound. At Guy’s and St Thomas’, he leads the MSK Ultrasound and Injection Therapy Service, managing a broad spectrum of MSK, orthopaedic, and sports injuries. He also offers expert second opinions on complex diagnostic and treatment cases. He leads the SE London community of practice MSK Ultrasound group. Michael brings extensive hands-on expertise and is passionate about sharing ultrasound theory and practical skills with clinicians.

Benoy Mathew, MSc, MCSP, PG Cert MSK US
Advanced Practice Physiotherapist and MSK Sonographer
Benoy is a highly experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist, in both the NHS and private practice. He has been working as an advanced practice physiotherapist for more than 10 years, specialising in lower limb pathologies and currently works in Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital. He is full-time clinician, and his typical caseload is complex second opinion cases, who have failed traditional rehab. He is a trained MSK Sonographer and uses diagnostic ultrasound, routinely in his clinical practice since 2019. He is the lead editor of the international best-selling textbook ‘Hip and Knee Pain Disorders’ which was published in June 2022. He is a high-volume injection therapist and delivers ultrasound guided injection for appropriate MSK pathologies in his clinical practice.

Gareth Evans, BSc, MCSP, PG Cert MSK US
Advanced Practice Physiotherapist and MSK Sonographer
Gareth is a highly experienced Advanced Practice Physiotherapist and MSK Sonographer, with a background in both community and hospital integrated MSK services. He also works in radiology, undertaking diagnostic ultrasound and interventional procedures. Gareth teaches on introductory and MSK injection courses and has held senior roles in clinical leadership and governance. He is deeply committed to education, taking great satisfaction in helping clinicians build their confidence and expertise in MSK ultrasound and injection therapy.
