Aims
The purpose of the CSC AI Summer school is to share the practical know-how on development, testing, integrating and evaluating artificial intelligence solutions into the NHS.
Learning outcomes
Over this five day course you will learn:
- The legislative background and NHS-specific software implementation guidelines and the practical knowledge on how that applies in your Trust.
- The quality management activities necessary to develop software with the appropriate legal compliance so your solutions are developed with patient safety focus. We will share our open source quality management system with you to take to your home institution.
- The data fetching, cleaning, and understanding methods we use when working with DICOMs, structured data and non-structured data. We will share our open source imaging management platform and the knowledge on how we use and maintain it.
- How to train, test and optimise AI models. We will share our open source machine learning operations and introduce you to our project template which you can take to your local Trust to train your own models.
- How to evaluate commercial AI solutions in the NHS, sharing case studies and learning points. We will share our AI evaluation policy which you can take to your Trust for implementation.
Format
All days will be held in-person across St Thomas’ Hospital and Guy’s Hospitals, London. All days will be fully catered and will start at 10am and finish at 4pm. Social activities will also be organised during the week. Each day will consist of a set of lectures in the morning and practical sessions in the afternoon.
