Programme overview
This course will provide an insight into the evidence base and the practical application of a multidisciplinary approach to the management of patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgery for cancer.
The course will focus on the following topics:
- Pre-operative nutritional optimisation and prehabilitation
- Anatomical changes after surgery and associated consequences
- Parenteral nutrition after surgery
- Management of high output stomas
- Survivorship following surgery for oesophagogastric cancer
Who should attend
This study day is aimed at Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s) and Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) working in the area of GI surgery, colorectal cancer and oesophagogastric cancer.
